Can i Mow My Weeded Lawn Before i Apply a Fertilizer-Weed Conrol Mix?

I bought the Scotts Turf Builder Pro which is a Fertilizer-Weed Control Mix. I’ve been pulling weeds out all day with and am ready to apply the mix, however, because my lawn is so large part of my lawn still is covered in weeds. I am too lazy and would very much like to mow my lawn and then apply this Fertilizer-Weed Control Mix. Is this ok to do? Or should i apply the mix without cutting my lawn so that the weeds can receive full exposure to the mix?

Thanks
Hi guys/gals..Thanks for the relpies so far. I am curious…On the Scott’s bags i have it mentions that because of morning dew’s moisture in the air by applying the Scott’s Fertliizer-Weed Control it will allow it to stick to the leaves of the weeds for better killing. If i do go ahead and cut the grass then would this reduce the effectiveness of killing them later on? Some of you mention i should cut the lawn while others mention to not cut before i apply the product

Mow the lawn and spread the Turf Builder. If the lawn is a nice even level, the stuff will spread more evenly. If you let the weeds (and dandelions) stay tall, you risk them going to seed and re-seeding your lawn with weeds! If you can’t spread the Scott’s in the early am to catch the dew, you can water your lawn with sprinklers or a hose to give the granules something to “stick” to. If your lawn is huge, you can split it into 2 sections and water and spread one in the am and the other in the evening.

Green Lucky
Would finding a baby green tree frog in your home be considered lucky?

We live nowhere near water or rainforest. Also what is the meaning of green tree frogs symbolically, thanx in advance :)

Absolutely! The Frog Totem indicates metamorphoses and new directions in life. Frogs are often symbolized with a gold coin in their mouths signifying good luck and the energy of increased wealth. Shamans felt that Frogs could make the quick and effortless leap from one stage of consciousness to another, thus they were a symbol of magic to them. How cool is that?

How much fertilizer should I give a radish plant?

Hi,
so i have to do a science project and i am doing”How much fertilizer do you need to grow a healthy plant?”
so i am doing 3 plants and giving them different amounts of fertilizers.
then i measure on how much they grow.
and i am using a spray fertilizer
but i odn’t know what would be the “right” amount of fertilizer to give so i can do one lower and higher.
how many seconds should i give my plant to fertile?

oh and what would be the controlled, manipulated, and responding variable?

thanks!

There is no “right” amount for fertilizer. The correct amount will depend on the fertility of the soil you’re using.

I would do this:

1 radish with the recommended amount of fertilizer that is listed on the package. If you’re growing indoors, use the amount and frequency listed for “houseplants.”
1 radish with 1/2 the recommended amount of fertilizer that is listed on the package.
1 radish with no fertilizer.

Make sure you use the same soil from the same source (potting soil from a bag would be best). The unfertilized radish is your control. Make sure they get the same amount of light, heat, and water. If you want to do one “higher” I would use a fourth radish with twice the recommended amount of fertilizer.

However, if your question is “How much fertilizer do you need to grow a healthy plant?” then you probably want LESS fertilizer rather than MORE, because you’re trying to figure out exactly how much you can get away with and still have a healthy plant. Make sense?

Is green green Plant fertilizer a good source for plants?

I have recently bought a box containing 10 small 32ml. bottles of green green plant fertilizer. it is made up of mostly nitrogen, phosphoric acid and potassium. it has a .005% total nitrogen, .003% Ammoniacal Nitrogen, .002% NItrate Nitrogen, .01% Availbable Phosphate, and .02%soluble Potash. my question is this; is this a good fertilizer or should i try something else? i am new at growing plants. any awnser would be much apprectiated!

This is a good plant fertilizer. Be sure to follow the instructions on the bottle exactly, you could kill your plants by over fertilizing them.

What steps should I take to start a new lawn?

My grass is in decent shape, but there is a lot of crabgrass and other weeks. Can someone give me advice on what type of fertilizer I should start off with. Can I also use a herbicide with the fertilizer…?
Thanks

Yes you can use a herbicide at the same time as a fertiliser.. If you do not want to start again.. Use a broad leaf herbicide to kill weeds.. Spot spray non broad leaf grasses with Glyphosate.. sometimes you can pull these by hand.. The using a fork resow over areas that are thinning.. Stab a few thousand holes with the fork and throw seed over..Then even fork again..

Synthetic Turf for Sports Surfaces

Synthetic turf is gaining importance every year. It does not require watering, mowing, fertilizing, and lower labor costs. Artificial grass can withstand any weather conditions. So this will help the players to play throughout the year. If the field has natural grass, the players will not be able to play during rainy season due to muddy patches. Natural grass requires a lot of money and time. It requires lot of maintenance costs. It requires watering, mowing, fertilizers. In some areas there may be water scarcity due to which they can’t water their fields. This may create lot of problems to the players. So if synthetic grass is put up in the fields then you will not need any water. Synthetic turf can be used for sport purposes like soccer pitches, golf courses, tennis courts, hockey fields and cricket pitches.

Synthetic turf can be used for indoor soccer turf also. In Synthetic grass team names, logos, and other markings can be embossed very easily without regular repainting. Since artificial turf is very soft it can create less injury when compared to natural grass. The main reason for soccer being played 365 days in a year is due to the way synthetic turf was designed. Mostly the life span for synthetic soccer is 10 years. Since soccer is played throughout the year, its lifespan is reduced to 7 years. Artificial soccer requires very little maintenance. It mainly consists of brushing the surface to loosen the compacted infill, bring the yarns into an upright position and remove dirt such as leaves, clay and small branches off the pitch. This does not require highly skilled work force for maintenance.

Artificial turf made of polyethylene material is used for making soccer pitches because it very soft when compared to other materials such as polypropylene or nylon. Sports organizations can benefit from the installation of synthetic grass. Players will be happy playing on artificial grass instead of uneven lawns. Synthetic turf provides an opportunity for players to display their hockey skills. Synthetic turf offers comfort and limits danger to players. Synthetic turf also benefits cricket pitches. Synthetic grass can benefit both the batsmen and bowler to display their skills. Synthetic grass can be easily installed and maintained. It is user-friendly and the ball bounces in a very good manner. Synthetic grass is UV stabilized. Since synthetic grass is non-slippery players can play properly throughout the year. This type of grass is non toxic and non allergenic.

Do african dwarf frogs need a filter or air stone?

I have one male Betta in a five gallon tank. I have a lot of plants in there, like amazon swords and bambo. I dont have a heater, but the temp is always constant, we live in L.A., and it’s warm here. I gave him a small terracotta pot, Petsmart said these were safe, to hide in and I feed him pellets, fish flakes and blood worms. Can I put an African Dwarf frog in there? All the websites say that dwarf frogs are compatable with bettas. I just want to know if I’m going to need to change something with my tank?
I change the water once a week, and I use that stuff that takes the chemicals out of the water. I think its called Betta safe or something.

I have a African dwarf frog in a 5 gal tank. I do have a filter but no air stone. His filter broke and he was with out one for about a week and he was fine. You can get a cheap filter at most pet stores or wal-mart for small tanks if you want to be on the safe side. And for food I would get some pellets that sink to the bottom for the frog.
