What is the effect of high moisture on MOP Fertilizer?

MOP (muriate of potash) is also known as potassium chloride. It is a salt, and therefore water soluble. Excess moisture can start to degrade the chips (granules), and they may stick together. This may result in the formation of lumps, or it may change the bulk density.

Gardening tips: It takes more than luck to get rid of clover
Q. I have a good size yard to mow and have more clover than grass. Two years ago, I sprayed for dandelions and clover. The dandelions are under control but the clover has taken over my yard. What do you suggest to solve this?

Can beer be used as a starter for composting?

I was wondering if beer could be added to compost as an inoculant to encourage bacteria growth.
I was wondering if beer could be added to compost as an inoculant to encourage bacteria growth. Good answers so far. I have used the beer and cola approach. I avoid soap as it might repel earthworms and grubs (good helpers).

You’d do better just urinating on it.

Enjoy the beer first, THEN use that same beer on the compost pile LOL

What is the best manure to use for fertilizer?

I am thinking about using manure in my garden. What is the best kind of manure to use and how is the best way to applicate it?

Aged manure is best, since it generally has a mixture of both manure and urine and the urine needs to leach out of the mix. Cattle and horse manures are generall used, although chicken, sheep and rabbit manure, as well as that from camelids like llamas and alpacas can be used. Cattle manure is generally the most commonly available.

It can be applied topically, but is best dug or tilled into your soil.
